  • Dr. Katie  Post, DDS Photo
    Dr. Katie Post, DDS

    Dr. Post is the owner and the leader of our team at Northwest Dental Group. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. An artist at heart, she loves helping patients create their dream smiles. She also makes comfort a top priority for all her patients.

    Dr. Post has completed advanced training in using an STA wand for painless anesthetic, pediatric dentistry, Veneers, Invisalign, Botox, IV and oral sedation, oral surgery and Implants.

    She is currently on the board of the Ronald McDonald House. She has experience of four years on the Zumbro Valley Dental Society board, 4 years on the Good Samaritan Dental Board, and 2 years on the Minnesota State Dental Foundation Board.

    Away from the office, you’ll find her coaching one of her three children in basketball, traveling on mission trips (Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and MSP), or supporting the ISU Cyclones with her husband.

    Dr. Charles Praska, DDS

    Dr. Praska grew up in a small farming town in North Dakota. He attended North Dakota State University and earned an undergraduate study in zoology. He spent six years at the University of Minnesota completing his dental studies and orthodontic residency. In July 1990, he joined the practice of Dr. Lloyd Truax, and they spent nearly 20 years practicing together.

    Dr. Praska’s orthodontic passion is changing skeletal problems and making room for crowded teeth during growth so patients can be treated on a non-surgical and non-extraction basis. Airway issues are also huge now relating to sleep apnea issues as adults, so early expansion of very narrow maxillaes or upper jaws can be life-changing! The appliances Dr. Praska uses are very specific to our practice and have been honed and developed over the last 25 years. Dr. Praska loves ortho!

  • Dr. Tim  Hansen, DDS Photo
    Dr. Tim Hansen, DDS

    A third-generation dentist, Dr. Hansen grew up in Waterloo, IA, and graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Happy and proud to be a part of Northwest Dental Group, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

    A dentist since 2011, Dr. Hansen is certified to administer inhaled sedation, local anesthetic, and CPR, AED, and first aid. He has additional training in OSHA and HIPAA compliance, as well as Invisalign.

    Dr. Hansen wanted to become a dentist because he enjoys the combination of the sciences and working with his hands. His patients love his calm demeanor and gentle touch. His interaction with his patients is his favorite part of his job.

    In addition to helping patients at Northwest Dental Group, he also volunteers his time and talents at the Good Samaritan Clinic, which provides dental services for people who may not be able to afford them otherwise.

    When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and baby boy.

  • Dr. Ryan  Meyer, DDS Photo
    Dr. Ryan Meyer, DDS

    Dr. Meyer is a native of Davenport, IA. He always wanted to work in health care and became interested in dentistry because of a neighbor’s older son who was a dentist.

    He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Iowa in 1998 and was a classmate of Dr. Post at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr. Meyer served at the VA hospital for several years, including as chief of dental services from 2010 to 2013. He was also an assistant professor at the UI College of Dentistry during this same period. After working in private practice in South Carolina for a few years, he joined our team in 2016.

    Dr. Meyer is certified to administer inhaled sedation, local anesthetic, and CPR, AED, and first aid. He has additional training in OSHA and HIPAA compliance and Invisalign. Dr. Meyer always tries to go out of his way to help patients; he feels that’s why they enjoy coming to see him.

    Dr. Meyer has been a dentist since 2003. Throughout his career, his favorite part of his job has been seeing patients transformed over a relatively short time, often after having dental problems for so long. He’s happy to be in Rochester and to have come full circle with Dr. Post since they were dental classmates and co-residents together.

    When he isn’t chairside helping patients, you might find him watching baseball, golfing, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and their son.

  • Dr. Rob  Vander Broek, DDS Photo
    Dr. Rob Vander Broek, DDS

    Dr. Rob Vander Broek joined our team in 2015 and has been a dentist for ten years. He enjoys the shared sense of mission among our team members to improve patients’ health, comfort, and self-confidence. He chose dentistry as a career after taking mission trips to Honduras with his hometown pediatric dentist while he was in college.

    Dr. Vander Broek graduated from the University of Michigan with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. He completed a one-year general practice residency at Carolinas Medical Center, as well as one-year research fellowships at both the National Institutes of Health and at the University of Michigan Medical School, resulting in multiple awards and co-authorship of several publications related to oral pathology. Additionally, Dr. Vander Broek received a certificate for completing a one-year dental implant externship through the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He has completed over 1000 hours of continuing education credits since joining Northwest Dental Group, earning Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and Mastership in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

    Currently, Dr. Vander Broek serves as President of the Southeastern District Dental Society of the Minnesota Dental Association. He also volunteers on the Executive Boards of the Zumbro Valley Dental Society, the University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnership, and the nonprofit CHAMPs in Haiti. He regularly volunteers clinical services locally and abroad. He has spent over 500 hours at the Rochester Salvation Army Good Samaritan Dental Clinic and is the two-time recipient of the American Dental Association's International Volunteer Service Award for work completed in Nepal, Haiti, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

    Dr. Vander Broek is certified in oral and inhaled sedation, local anesthetic, and CPR/AED/first aid. He has received training in OSHA and HIPAA compliance, implant dentistry, dental crowns, and Invisalign.

    Dr. Vander Broek and his family enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and volunteering.

  • Dr. Jongseuk  Lim, DDS Photo
    Dr. Jongseuk Lim, DDS

    Dr. Lim graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Neuroscience and received his dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He provides excellent comprehensive dental care including implants, crowns, Invisalign, and facial aesthetics.

    At the University of Maryland, he was part of the Periodontal clerkship and Gamma Pi Delta prosthodontic honor society, and was awarded American Academy of Periodontal and Academy of General Dentistry Dental student award, and Dean’s research award.

    Dr. Lim is passionate about research and keeping up with the latest dental technologies. His interests include dental implants, neuropathic pain, imaging and biomaterials. He has published in internationally recognized journals including Nature, Neuroscience, and Journal of Pain, and presented his studies at the International Association of Dental Research on dental implants and periodontology.

    Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, cooking and spending time with his Great Pyrenees puppy. Originally from Virginia, he has relocated to Rochester with his significant other who is a resident physician at Mayo Clinic.

    Dr. Lim looks forward to providing the highest standard of care and comfort.

  • Dr. Cameron  Gray, DDS Photo
    Dr. Cameron Gray, DDS

    Dr. Gray is returning to Minnesota, having grown up in Rochester starting in elementary through high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Biological sciences in 2017 with a BS in Neuroscience, and received his DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2021. Dr. Gray also completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and then spent time in Ames, Iowa as an associate dentist.

    Dr. Gray became interested in dentistry in his undergraduate studies, but he followed his father into the profession, who is an Endodontist right here in town. Dr. Gray is passionate about providing excellent care and service to his patients. With emphasis on dental education and comprehensive treatment planning, Dr. Gray strives to help every patient to their ideal dental health.

    In his free time, Dr. Gray enjoys spending time with his fiancé, as well as his two cats, Franklin and Herbie. He also enjoys playing the drums, guitar, board games, and is slowly learning how to play golf.

    Dr. Briana Chang, DMD

    Dr. Briana Chang is from Brooklyn, New York. She earned her Master’s in Oral Health at Boston University where she later completed her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at The Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Chang’s passion for dentistry led her to achieve an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut.

    Dr. Chang’s favorite part about dentistry is spending time with her patients and she is looking forward to getting to know how she can best serve you. She is certified in local anesthetic, CPR, AED, and First Aid.

    When Dr. Chang is not in the office, she centers herself with yoga, journaling, and dancing with her eyes closed.

  • Dr.  Ruo-Hsuan Chen, DMD Photo
    Dr. Ruo-Hsuan Chen, DMD

    Dr. Ruo-Hsuan Chen was born and raised in Taiwan. She moved to the United States in 2008 with her husband and attended dental school at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. She relocated to Minnesota with her husband and her three children in the summer of 2020.

    Dr. Chen is passionate about providing care to patients so they feel safe and comfortable at all times. She is continuously seeking out training and opportunities that allow her to remain knowledgeable about the latest in dentistry. Dr. Chen is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese. She is certified in local anesthetic, CPR, AED, and First Aid.

    When Dr. Chen is not at the office, she enjoys playing board games and doing puzzles. She also spends time enjoying the fresh air in state parks or playing on the playground with her three kids.

  • Dr. Madison  Dickovich, DMD Photo
    Dr. Madison Dickovich, DMD

    Dr. Dickovich (previously Dr. Bergeron) grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis in Prior Lake, Minnesota, before attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities for her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. Following her bachelor's degree, she immediately made the cross-country move to complete her dental education in Mesa, Arizona at AT Still University of Health Sciences at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH) where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree along with a Certificate in Public Health with a Dental Emphasis.

    Dr. Dickovich became interested in dentistry due to her familiarity with healthcare with a mother as a Physician in Prior Lake, as well as spending (her family would argue “too much”) time at dental and oral surgery appointments growing up. From her own personal experiences, she fell in love with the idea of being able to deliver personalized oral healthcare to improve a person’s smile and, more importantly, their overall health. Dr. Dickovich especially loves being able to work with her hands, whether it be painting, drawing, completing home-improvement projects, or beautiful dentistry.

    After living in Arizona for several years, Dr. Dickovich is thrilled to have moved back to her home state of Minnesota to continue her passion for treating patients in the Rochester area through personal relationships and comprehensive care. Having gotten married in the fall of 2021, Dr. Dickovich and her husband enjoy hiking and exploring outdoors with their yellow labs, Piper and Willow, as well as boating and going to northern Minnesota with their families.

    Dr. Dickovich is certified to administer local anesthetic, Nitrous Oxide inhalation, Botox Treatments, Facial Augmentation (lip filler services and Invisalign, as well as CPR, AED, and first aid. She also has additional training in OSHA and HIPAA compliance.

  • Dr. Alex  Nye, DMD Photo
    Dr. Alex Nye, DMD

    Dr Alex Nye joins our practice from Illinois. He majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minored in Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign prior to earning his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.

    Dr Nye’s treatment philosophy focuses on education to allow his patients to make a well-informed decision on their own treatment. Treatment longevity is one of his ultimate goals.

     

    Outside of the office, Dr Nye enjoys exploring new restaurants, computer gaming, reading Manga, watching YouTube, and researching dental materials.

  • What can you do for me to relieve my dental anxiety?

    We offer our Comfort Menu to all of our patients here at Northwest Dental Group to utilize as they would please. This includes comfort pillows, blankets, sunglasses, noise canceling headphones and much more! We also offer three kinds of dental sedation including oral sedation, pre-op sedatives and inhaled sedation.

  • How soon can I bring my child in for their first Exam?

    The American Dental Association advises bringing your child to see the dentist before their first birthday, or as soon as their teeth begin coming in. To encourage you not to delay your child’s first appointment, Northwest Dental Group offers free dental exams for children younger than 3. Our team is so efficient that we can often examine a baby along with mom or dad in less than an hour!

  • Am I a good candidate for Dental Implants?

    Our team at Northwest Dental Group takes your comfort and oral health seriously, so we perform a detailed evaluation of your mouth before offering dental implants as an option. We might recommend further treatments prior to implants if your gums are infected or damaged, or your bone structure has deteriorated to the point where it won’t provide a stable foundation for your implant.

  • What constitutes a Dental Emergency?

    Ongoing bleeding, knocked out tooth, fractured or chipped tooth or a major infection. At Northwest Dental Group, we understand the panic that can set in during a dental emergency, so we work tirelessly to put your mind at ease.
