I’m Having a Hard Time Chewing

If you find it difficult to chew your food because you are missing teeth, you may become frustrated. When Thanksgiving rolls around and you cannot eat the turkey because you do not have molars, then you begin to feel self-conscious, and the fact that everyone else is enjoying it causes you to become depressed.

The team at Northwest Dental Group does not want you to feel this way. We want you to be able to eat all of your favorite foods, whether crunchy apples or steak, and enjoy any food without pain or discomfort.

What Are Dental Implants?

When you experience problems eating because of missing teeth, we can provide you with a tooth replacement option. The most common option is dental implants, which consist of small titanium posts that are placed into your jaw. Once the implants are in your jaw, you will need to give the bone time to heal so that the implants can act as anchors for restorations.
When your implants are ready, we will attach crowns, bridges, or dentures to them to provide you with a great looking smile that you can show off to the world.

Types of Implants Offered

We offer a wide variety of dental implants for you to choose from. In addition to traditional implants, we also offer implant-retained dentures and implant-supported dentures that follow the same implant procedure, but instead of connecting individual crowns or bridges to the posts, dentures will be attached in their place with bars or metal balls.

Dentures for Tooth Replacement

If you are unable to have dental implants due to a loss of bone mass or for another reason, dentures are a great option. Dentures have advanced and come a long way so that they mimic natural teeth in many ways and minimize slipping or falling out.
Traditional dentures will be made to fit your mouth and consist of a gum-colored base. The dentures rest on your gums, and you can eat and speak normally after adjusting to the dentures in your mouth.

In addition to traditional dentures, we offer partials when you are missing only a few teeth or need to have a series of teeth extracted. If you cannot be without teeth while you wait for your dentures to be made, we can provide the option of immediate dentures. Immediate dentures are placed in your mouth right after the extraction process takes place. You will need to have the dentures adjusted a couple times as your jawbone shrinks and your mouth adjusts to not having natural teeth there.
